The dates for the 2019 LARAC Conference have been released, and this year the event will take place on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 October - a week earlier than in recent years but still in the autumn slot that has become a traditional fixture in the diaries of local authority waste and recycling officers.
The event will also have a new home in 2019 – the Hilton Metropole Birmingham NEC – with its large purpose-built conference facility.
After five years at the East Midlands Conference Centre we feel the event might have outgrown the space there. While delegates and sponsors alike regard the LARAC Conference very highly, the move to the Hilton Metropole helps to addresses issues about transport links, exhibitor space and on-site accommodation. It means the conference can grow in a steady manner whilst retaining that personal feel that everyone who attends values and feels makes it the premier local authority waste event of the year.
Planning for the programme starts soon and details will be released in the late spring when bookings will also open, as will the annual Scholarship programme. Keep a look out here and in LARAC Online for details. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for topics or speakers then please email email@example.com
