As a Waste Minimisation Officer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing waste reduction strategies within the Environment Service. Reporting to the Principal Waste Officer, you will be responsible for driving initiatives and educational campaigns to encourage waste minimisation, recycling, and promoting sustainable lifestyles across West Berkshire.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement waste reduction strategies, targeting household waste.
- Plan and deliver educational campaigns and workshops to raise awareness on waste minimisation and recycling.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, guidance, and support on waste management and sustainable practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of waste reduction initiatives, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and delivery of waste management policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of waste minimisation techniques, recycling methods, and sustainable practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A passion for promoting sustainable living and making a positive impact on the environment.
