
An opportunity has arisen to join the waste management team at Preston City Council. We have a vacancy for a highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be responsible for developing and implementing new waste management initiatives, as well as maintaining and improving other waste services and dealing with a range of waste-related issues, queries and procurement. You must have excellent IT skills and have experience of working in a customer-focused environment. A pleasant personality, customer focused approach and ability to meet deadlines is essential.
Working as part of a small office-based team at the Councils Argyll Road depot. Being a team player, but also with the ability to work alone, you should be able to prioritise a fluctuating workload, be computer literate, and have good numeracy skills, along with the ability to write clear and concise reports and documents.
If appointed you will be required to have a driving licence and ideally have a car available for work purposes. The hours of work will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday. A flexitime scheme is in operation and an casual user allowance is payable.
Hours of work will be flexible to suit the work requirements and may include early starts, and occasional evening and weekend work.
