Alupro is an industry funded, not-for-profit organisation with over 30 years experience representing the UK’s aluminium packaging industry. We work to fulfil the industry’s obligation to meet, and exceed, recycling targets for aluminium packaging.
We work in partnership with local authorities, the waste management industry, and the wider metal packaging sector to develop and stimulate the UK’s collection infrastructure. We also manage and run consumer information and education campaigns to encourage the participation in recycling schemes such as MetalMatters and ‘Foil in Love with Recycling’.
MetalMatters is a proven communications campaign designed to support local authority kerbside metal packaging recycling schemes. The aim is to help educate householders about metal packaging recycling and motivate them to get involved and recycle more at home. We offer part funding towards the total campaign cost.
The Foil in Love with Recycling campaign is fully funded and aims to increase the quality and quantity of foil packaging collected from households. The campaign includes a toolkit containing artwork and video content which can be easily adapted to create a campaign to educate, inform and remind residents about which types of packaging are made from aluminium foil and how to present them for recycling.
Alupro offers a range of support to local authorities who are expanding or promoting their recycling activity, including communications resources to help achieve maximum participation.
We know that householders are keen to recycle more materials. Alupro would like to see all local authorities collecting all aluminium packaging materials and realising the value from this material stream.
