You helped the nation make their food go fuuuuurther
Food Waste Action Week wrapped up on the 15 March and this year’s campaign was bigger and better than ever.
A huge thank you to everyone that got involved in the campaign! We saw hundreds of local authorities sharing the campaign assets and getting creative with ways to make food go fuuuurther (see some examples below). Together we reached millions of people, helping them to stretch the value of food and encouraging people to waste less and recycle more.
We want your feedback
We’d love to know what you thought of Food Waste Action Week this year. We’ve set up a SharePoint form where you can share feedback, learnings and ideas that will help us shape future campaigns. Plus, if you can upload your best activity photos from the week, they may make it into our Food Waste Action Week 2026 highlight reel.
Your feedback is valuable to us and will help us in our planning for next year.
How to keep up the momentum
We saw a wave of action on food waste and recycling during Food Waste Action Week 2026. But it doesn’t have to stop there. We have loads of resources across the Love Food Hate Waste and WRAP websites to support your always-on plans.
Don’t forget to follow and tag the Love Food Hate Waste Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts, and use the hashtag #LoveFoodHateWaste when posting about your food waste communications.
The Refill Locator is here!
On other campaign news, we’ve recently launched a brand new tool on the Recycle Now website – the Refill Locator, to show the nearest refill locations across the UK.
Share the news with residents on your channels and get in touch at partnerenquiries@wrap.ngo if you would like to embed the locator on your website.
We’ve also got plenty of advice on how to start refill shopping, and the benefits of shopping this way. Find out more here: https://www.recyclenow.com/how-to-recycle
