RWM has returned to its position as the premier event for recycling and waste professionals in the UK. With the best footfall the event has seen in years, RWM delivered on all the promises that were made when the event changed ownership to Prysm Group in January.

RWM was bigger than ever before this year as it ran alongside the remaining PRYSM Group environmental portfolio. Having this co-location allowed for an amazing transfer of ideas and knowledge across platforms as well as new business from unlikely sources. With all the shows running at once, it created the most comprehensive collection of environmental expos in the UK, with a visitor base of 21,100 delegates. These delegates were quality visitors with real control within their represented businesses, making the exhibition halls buzz with positive conversations about real potential business.

Refusing to be static in a climate that requires proactivity, Suez announced a report looking into extended producer responsibility (EPR) that will look to influence the debate on packaging, as well as influence the creation of DEFRA’s resource and waste strategy. The seminar held within the Circular Economy Theatre showed that the waste industry recognises the influence it can have on improving our waste and recycling handling at a government level, showing that RWM is conscious of the issues surrounding the world and are proactive in their intent to improve the world. This really solidifies how great a platform RWM can be for companies to reach out and begin benefitting our communities and councils.

RWM was a massive success this year, and with a full year to build upon for 2019, the event will only grow bigger and better over the coming years.
