Podback is pleased to report that the spread of coffee pod recycling across the UK’s HWRC network continues apace! With almost 100 sites in operation from Essex to County Durham, providing facilities for over 4.2 million households. With Black Friday and Christmas approaching, we know that pod machines will be in many shopping baskets. And, with the major machine brands now including Podback recycling bags in their bundles, your residents are going to be looking for convenient, local solutions to recycle their pods.
If your local authority wants to offer coffee pod recycling, the good news is that Podback is straightforward to set up, and it’s not too late to start making plans!
Typical roll-out takes just six weeks
Podback can be integrated into your HWRCs in as little as six weeks. The mobilisation process is designed to be quick and straightforward, so you can offer pod recycling to your residents with minimal disruption.
Fully Funded
Podback’s HWRC package is fully funded and includes the provision of collection containers, site signage, and onward logistics to our UK-based reprocessors. So you can introduce a new recycling service without worrying about stretching your current resources.
Fully supported
Podback provides everything that is needed to ensure the programme’s success. This includes:
- Branded collection containers for aluminium and plastic pods.
- Signage for HWRCs.
- Marketing materials to launch and promote the service.
The Podback team is on hand to advise and support during, and after, the service mobilisation.
Track and Report Your Data
Podback provides regular collections in line with Environment Agency requirements, and will supply collection data which can be submitted through WasteDataFlow; so pods recycled count towards your recycling performance.
All compliance documents for our reprocessors and waste carriers are provided at mobilisation, and waste transfer notes can be accessed electronically via an online portal.
Popular with Residents
Offering Podback has proved popular with residents. At the three HWRCs operated by Re3 in Berkshire, over 1.75m pods were collected within the first 12 months of the programme launching. The HWRC collections do not require special bags or printed labels, pods can be collected at home in any container and tipped loose into the relevant container at the recycling centre.
