RWM Expo returns to the NEC Birmingham on 16–17 September, and the LARAC Lounge will once again provide a dedicated meeting point for local authority waste and recycling professionals.
RWM is always a busy couple of days. There is a huge amount to see, plenty of people to speak to and a packed programme of sessions. The LARAC Lounge, sponsored by PermiServ, now part of Routeware, gives our members somewhere to pause between it all, whether you want to catch up with colleagues, arrange a meeting, make new connections or simply sit down and recharge for a while.
LARAC
Located within the Collections & Transport Zone, the Lounge is designed with local authorities in mind. It is an informal space where you can meet other officers facing similar challenges, speak to relevant exhibitors and continue conversations from the conference sessions and show floor.
The LARAC team will be based in the Lounge throughout the two days, including members of our staff team, LARAC Chair and some of our Executive team. We would love members to come and say hello, let us know what is happening in your authority and talk to us about the issues you would like LARAC to be raising on your behalf.
With so much change continuing across the sector, from Simpler Recycling, pEPR and DRS to service pressures, costs and upcoming policy developments, it is also a useful opportunity to compare experiences and hear what is happening elsewhere. Some of the most valuable conversations at events like RWM happen away from the formal programme, and we want the Lounge to be a place where those conversations can happen.
LARAC members attending on Wednesday 16 September are also invited to join us for a drink's reception in the Lounge, when the PermiServ, now part of Routeware Garden Waste Award winners will also be announced. It will be a relaxed opportunity to catch up with fellow members, meet the team and round off the first day of the show. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be available, from 2pm till 2:45 pm.
