We at LARAC are absolutely delighted to announce that our own CEO, Lee Marshall, has been nominated for the Industry Leader of the Year Award in this year's CIWM Sustainability and Resource Awards.
It has been LARAC's aim, since our new management team came into place just over two years ago, to increase the level and profile of the representation services we provide for our members. Andrew Bird, our Chair, and Lee, and the whole LARAC Exec have been working tirelessly towards this end.
So, a heartfelt congratulations from all of us here at LARAC to Lee for his huge efforts (and some of the morning starts from mid-Wales have been horrendous!) to get the word of Local Authority Recycling professionals out there.
Andrew Bird says: “It is richly deserved recognition for his tireless efforts to get the word out there on behalf of LARAC members. Lee has worked in England and Wales for the past 20 years in local government waste and recycling management roles and also has experience in the private sector and as a consultant. He really knows the industry inside out and is an excellent person to represent our members’ views. I congratulate him on a job excellently done, he will always be a winner for me!”
He shares his nomination with some illustrious company, several of whom have featured recently as interviewees in our Loop magazine: they are: Sophie Thomas from the Design Council, Dominic Hogg from Eunomia, Julie Hill from Wrap, Ray Georgeson from Resource Association and David Palmer-Jones of Sita UK.
About the Awards:
This award aims to recognise the person who has most influenced the resource and waste industry in 2016. The finalists were nominated by their peers who feel they have contributed significantly, and the winner is decided by members of the industry via an online vote.
Let's help Lee get to the next level - VOTE FOR HIM!
The vote will close at 5pm on Friday 30th September.
