Things are set to change at LARAC.  Next year sees the retirement of Colin Kirkby, the Executive Officer, and with that there will be an opportunity to expand his post from adminsitration to include representing the organisation to Government and Industry.

Are you up to that?  We are looking for somebody with Local Authority Waste Management experience, who is comfortable with representing our members to the leaders of the industry and has the relevant experience to back that up.

Do you have the qualities to become LARAC’s new Chief Executive Officer?

Established in 1985, by Local Authority Officers, LARAC’s mission is to provide quality representation for Local Authorities on Recycling and Waste Management issues.

LARAC plays an active role to inform and lobby key opinion formers and policy makers on our member’s behalf.

As the Chief Executive officer your role will be both external and internal facing.

Externally you will maintain and develop LARAC’s high profile by representing the organisation to stakeholders and partners.

Internally, you will work closely with the LARAC Executive, and be responsible for LARAC’s administrative, financial and membership services and ensure the organisation is appropriately and professionally managed in accordance with its constitution. This will include the provision of a Support Services Officer.

For this role you need to have previous experience of working within waste & recycling in a Local Authority context, with excellent people skills and good contacts with key players in the waste industry

The post is offered on a contract basis for a minimum of three years with a possible two year extension.
