During the LARAC Celebration Awards a table top collection was made for two charities: Cancer Research UK, and one much nearer to home, that of Adam's Aid. We raised £750 for each.
Adam is the son of our long time Rep for Aberdeenshire (and one time Scottish Rep) Pam Walker, he needs some treatment for which he will have to travel to America, and his family has the unenviable task of raising £50k so that he can get there. So you can imagine, the £750 we raised for Adam was very much appreciated, and Pam has sent this message to all who donated: "We were really touched by the donation that we received to Adam's Aim from those attending the Conference and Awards Dinner. It truly warmed our hearts that the LARAC family could do something like this for us. This donation takes us another step closer to our goal and a better future for Adam. We cannot thank LARAC and everyone who donated enough." Adam's family are almost halfway to raising the full amount they need, if you would like to help them get there then please visit www.adamsaim.co.uk - lets see if the LARAC family can help Adam (in his own words) 'run like my friends can'.
By now all those who attended the LARAC conference should have received their email from Daniella with all the conference presentations and a link to the photos from the two days. For those members who couldn't attend, those presentations and photos are now in the members' area of the website on the Conference Presentations page. The Awards winners are listed in the news item below and are on the www.laracconference.org.uk website - with photos!
