Storm Environmental’s bin hubs provide a complete solution for busy urban communities, enabling the safe, efficient and aesthetically pleasing disposal of residual waste, recyclables and food waste.

Designed to accommodate multiple combinations of 1100 or 1280-litre wheeled bins within a single lockable structure, Storm bin hubs protect bins from impact, misuse and unauthorised access. At the same time, they provide communities with a pleasant and discreet way to separate and dispose of household waste and recyclables.

For waste collection teams, the bin hub system is designed for easy access and efficient operation. Its robust construction is built to withstand the knocks and impacts of daily use, while the entry gates allow bins to be moved quickly to and from collection vehicles. The gates are fitted with tamper-proof hinges and heavy-duty auto-slam locks for added security and durability.

Bin hubs are typically located at street-level waste and recycling collection points on residential estates and in high-density urban communities. Their aesthetically pleasing appearance also makes them suitable for prominent locations where clean, discreet collection points are required, helping to encourage effective separation of the different waste streams generated in the area.

The Storm design studio has ensured that the bin hubs are built for durability and long-term use. The hub frames are manufactured from square-section galvanised steel tube and fitted with heavy-gauge galvanised steel panels. In areas at greater risk of impact, the panels are reinforced with additional galvanised steel sections for increased strength and protection.

Storm has one of the few automatic powder coating lines in the UK, located in their Haynes Point production facility in Kidderminster. All galvanised steel components are finished in the customer’s chosen colour, providing the bin hub with an attractive, durable finish designed for long-term performance.

The most popular combination is a five-unit hub unit, consisting of two residual waste bins, two recycling collection bins and one food waste collection bin. However, thanks to the modular design, the bin locations can be configured to suit the specific requirements of each site. Adjustable levelling feet also allow the units to be installed in a wide range of locations, ensuring local communities have convenient access to their waste disposal hubs.

Options include vinyl graphics featuring information and imagery on the front panels of the hubs. The Storm design studio can also provide free design support to help create a solution that meets your requirements.

Installation can be carried out by Storm’s own trained team, or customers can opt to have their preferred installation team trained free of charge at Storm’s Kidderminster headquarters.
