So sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to John Coates.
John’s involvement with LARAC has spanned the last eight years. Initially as a LA officer and then as part of the Exec Team, as Vice Chair and also Treasurer, John has continually supported LARAC. Then steering LARAC through a period of change, taking over from Lee Marshall in 2021, as Interim CEO, until most recently, in his current role as Head of External Affairs. We would like to thank John for his great dedication and work with stakeholders, Governments and his Policy and Consultation work, promoting the voice of LARAC for our members. John is now moving to a new role, but still within the waste industry so he will still be in our field of vision! We wish him much luck and enjoyment in his next chapter and hope he will still make time to relax at the occasional rock festival or with a spot of wild camping!

I first met John many years ago but I can’t remember where? And again at LARAC Conference. His enthusiasm and passion have always been apparent and is catching. Very knowledgeable and supportive. Whoever has stolen him from us is on a winner! Anthony.
