WRAP
With this year’s Recycle Week (14-20 September) taking place this month, we’re excited to be able to share the 2026 campaign toolkit. You’ll find all the guidance and assets to get involved.
What’s included in the toolkit:
- Ready to go static, carousel and video social media assets and copy
- Editable press release template
- Digital web and email banners
- Print assets
Please share with your communications and engagement colleagues and help us make this the biggest Recycle Week yet.
Remember to tag Recycle Now on your social posts and use #RecycleWeek2026 when getting involved through your channels, so we can amplify your involvement.

Introducing the 2026 all-star cast
This year, we are continuing to run our “Rescue Me. Recycle” campaign – bringing character and emotion to recyclables and focusing on the second life they long to live. By using personification and showing the value of our recyclables, we hope to encourage people to think twice about which bin they place them in, and our characters have all been selected based on insight around the most commonly missed materials.
We also have a brand-new character for 2026 to support the roll-out of food waste recycling.

We are running a second Recycle Week webinar on Thursday 3 September at 2:00pm, to walk through the toolkit, how to use the assets and our latest plans for the Recycle Week campaign.

What will be happening during the campaign?
Recycle Week itself runs from 14-20 September, however this year we’ll be expanding our activation to help engage people both before and after the campaign week. We’ll have activity starting to run from 31st August through to late October and you’ll see the campaign across:
- SKY TV channels with our brand-new TV ad
- Recycle Now social media with organic content and paid ads across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Reddit
- Recycle Now website with a new campaign landing page
- National & local news media
- Influencer channels across Instagram and TikTok
- Partner channels, including a returning sponsorship with Boots
We welcome local authorities to get involved whenever suits them, from 7-27 September 2026.
WRAP’s research shows that frequent, consistent communication from local authorities is key to helping people have confidence in the recycling.
Get involved this Recycle Week and help more people to rescue recyclables from their rubbish and keep valuable materials in circulation.
Without local authorities, Recycle Week wouldn’t be possible – thank you for being part of the nation’s biggest recycling moment.
