With the day-to-day demands of dealing with increasing workloads, this year LARAC members are being given even more time to complete their award entries and have their remarkable efforts recognised at the LARAC Celebration Awards – the new deadline is midday on Friday the 29th August.
The LARAC Celebration Awards, are renowned for recognising the efforts of those doing the job on the ground, be it a team or individual driving waste minimisation and recycling in their local area.
This year the ceremony will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on the 15th October, and hosted by Philip Ward, Non-Executive Director at Resource Futures.
Categories:
- The Awards cover six categories and will be presented following a drinks reception and three course black tie dinner. The categories are:
- •Best Communications Campaign of the Year, sponsored by SITA UK
- •Best Partnership Award, sponsored by Viridor
- •Best Team of the Year
- •Best Waste Minimisation or Prevention Project, sponsored by Repic
- •Best New Idea
- •Recycling Officer of the Year, sponsored by Countrystyle
It has never been simpler to submit your entry. Simply visit the LARAC Celebration Awards website, choose which categories you wish to enter and click on the ‘submit entry’ button and upload your entry.
The deadline for entries is Midday, Friday 29th August.
Judges
Entries will be judged by a panel of experts from the waste and recycling sector, led by LARAC Chair Andrew Bird. He will be joined by five other judges, Caelia Quinault, News Editor at letsrecycle.com, Linda Crichton, Head of Resource Management at WRAP, Lee Marshall, Chief Executive Officer at LARAC, Steve Palfrey, Chair of NAWDO and industry consultant Peter Selkirk.
