As part of DEFRA’s upcoming ‘Simpler Recycling’ reforms, all local authorities in England will be required to provide kerbside food waste collections by 2026. With this mandate fast approaching, councils and waste management providers are preparing by sourcing practical, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

To help meet this growing demand, Cromwell Polythene has expanded its product range and proudly introduces new polythene food caddy liners — launching in 2025. These liners offer a durable, easy-to-use, and innovative alternative to traditional compostable liners, designed specifically to support the next phase of food waste collection services.

The New Polythene Liners

These liners are designed specifically to help reduce contamination, withstand tough handling, and provide a more consistent and reliable option for food waste capture. Made using recycled content to allow for PPT compliance, Cromwell’s polythene food caddy liners support circular economy goals while minimising the risk of breakdown issues associated with compostables in some Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants.

They are an ideal alternative to compostable liners, and are made with the same exceptional standards that you come to expect from waste experts Cromwell, whom have provided the industry with quality solutions for 4 decades.
