LARAC partners Cromwell Polythene have been proud suppliers of compostable liners for organic waste collections for well over a decade. Over these past 20+ years, they have supplied these waste sack solutions to a number of different local authorities up and down the country - mainly used to supply to residents for their food waste collections.
This form of kerbside collection has increased in popularity over the past few years, and with it soon to become a mandatory waste requirement, the demand for compostable liners is predicted to increase. Cromwell’s compostable liners have developed in accordance with market demands. This includes introducing a wide variety of sizes, the invention of their innovative ‘re-order ribbon’ – which saw a new way for residents to indicate a need for new supply. Now their popular liners have received a fresh new look!
What’s new?
The new design is inspired by the BBIA’s recently developed rapid identification system for compostable materials. Created in collaboration with BBIA members, this design aims to support the waste management sector, particularly organic waste recycling facilities, by enabling quick and clear visual identification of compostable versus non-compostable materials.
These updated designs build upon the previous style with a more distinctive look, clearly displaying the standards to which the bags adhere. This includes the 'Compostable Logo,' the 7P Number, and the composting certifications they meet. Additionally, the bags feature information about their intended use as compostable liners and provide an estimated decomposition timeframe when composted.
Why change?
The updated print design aims to support quick identification throughout the waste management process, from the source to end of life. Additionally, the liner design prominently displays key accreditations to address the rising issue of ‘false claims’ in the market. Although the design has evolved, the outstanding benefits and features of these bags remain unchanged. The popular green colour and the resource-efficient qualities of the liners are as reliable as ever.
