This year, LARAC proudly celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Conference & Awards Scholarship Programme. The scholarship programme has run from 2004, and in that time, we have supported 346 scholars to attend the conference, benefit from the special seminar the day before and attend the extended programme provided by REPIC, our amazing sponsors.
Over the past two decades, the programme has supported the professional development of Waste and Recycling Officers from across the UK, providing them with valuable networking, learning, and growth opportunities. The programme’s success is a testament to the commitment of past scholars, sponsors, and the wider LARAC community.
Cathy Cook, LARAC Chair, commented:
“For 20 years, the LARAC Scholarship Programme has been a stepping stone for local authority officers, helping them grow in their careers and connect with others working across all areas of waste. Hearing about the experiences of our past scholars really shows just how valuable this programme is, and we’re proud to have been part of their journeys. We're excited to keep supporting future leaders and playing a role in shaping the waste and recycling sector for many more years to come.”
Celebrating Our Past Scholars
As we mark this significant anniversary, we wanted to highlight some of the incredible journeys our past scholars have taken since joining the programme. Their stories reflect the programme’s impact on their careers and the broader waste and recycling sector. Please follow this link to look at where some of our previous scholars are now and how the LARAC Scholarship Programme helped shape their paths.
We look forward to welcoming the next generation of waste sector leaders as we celebrate this milestone.
