You asked, we listened – The Print Shop for Councils is nearly here.

As councils navigate rising service expectations and tighter budgets, efficient communication has never been more critical. In response to growing demand, Permiserv – the trusted name behind garden waste permits and software solutions used by over a third of UK councils – is expanding its offer with the launch of The Print Shop for Councils, a printable communications service designed specifically for local authority needs.
Launching this September, The Print Shop brings together Permiserv’s deep-rooted expertise in print, data integration, and council engagement to deliver fast, high-quality, weatherproof (when needed) printed communications — from stickers to signage, and letters to leaflets.
A Natural Evolution, Built on Solid Foundations
Though widely known for digital and print services in garden waste and recycling – Permiserv’s story began in the print. Our in-house production team started life supplying major UK publishers and production giants (20th Century Fox, Penguin, Harper Collins, MacMillan to name a few) with dependable, high-quality label solutions. When councils approached us nearly a decade ago to help with permit fulfilment, we didn’t just say yes — we built our reputation on getting the details right.
Our print operation still underpins our permit services — but councils have consistently asked: “Can you help with other print items too?” We can, and now we are. While we’ve focused on garden waste, we’re expanding to support wider council comms — from posters and letters to signage and mailers. Councils need print that’s accurate, compliant, weather-resistant, and on budget. That’s where The Print Shop comes in.
Supporting 2026 Food Waste Policy with Campaign Packs

With mandatory weekly food waste collections coming into effect in 2026, many councils are already planning how they’ll roll out new services to residents.
To support this, Permiserv has developed the Food Waste Communication Pack — tailored and customisable printed materials that help councils inform residents, improve participation, and reduce contamination.
We all know from experience: well-executed communications campaigns have a direct impact on the tonnage and quality of collected food waste. From pre-launch engagement through to clear bin stickers, information letters, and service reminder cards — these touchpoints are critical to avoiding confusion and ensuring long-term success.
The Print Shop allows councils to access print-ready examples, customise for local needs, and deploy communications quickly — even at scale. Whether you’re piloting food waste in one ward or rolling it out borough-wide, we’re here to help it go smoothly
Designed with Councils, for Councils
The Print Shop isn’t just another online portal — it’s a time-saving resource built with real feedback from local authorities across the UK.
With access to templates, previous campaign examples, and compliant print formats, councils can skip the blank page and get straight to delivery. Whether it’s launching a food waste rollout, promoting recycling targets, or sending essential service updates, The Print Shop is designed to help you do more, with less effort.
There’s also the added benefit of integration with Permiserv’s existing services — making it easier to align communications with permit data, resident segmentation, and mailing fulfilment. Not to mention keeping a smile on the faces of your procurement team…
Be the First to Know
The Print Shop for Councils is set to launch in September 2025. Councils who already work with Permiserv will automatically gain access, and new councils are welcome to explore how we can support wider communications needs — from waste to resident engagement.
We’ll be sharing updates, examples, and how-to content over the coming weeks — and we’d love to hear what you’d find most useful within The Little Green Network.
