LARAC webinar, taking place on Wednesday 4th March:
AI That Actually Helps: Smarter Tools for Local Authority Communications

When: 10AM till 11:30AM, Wed 4 March
Where: Online (Zoom)

This session will focus on practical, real‑world AI and digital tools already being used by councils to improve resident communication, reduce routine enquiries, and free up staff time.

Rather than general AI theory, this webinar highlights specific, proven technologies currently delivering measurable value in the waste and recycling sector.

You’ll hear from:

NLWA - who will share their new AI‑powered natural‑language search tool, developed with Resource Media, which helps residents find waste and recycling information quickly and accurately. Miriam Cragg and Charles Newman will outline how the tool reduces routine phone and email enquiries and improves online navigation and user satisfaction, freeing up staff time for community engagement.

Biffa – who will discuss their Binsight smart waste solution, which uses sensor‑equipped bins and data modelling to automatically monitor household food‑waste presentation in real time. The solution gives councils more accurate behavioural insights, with far less manual effort, helping them target interventions and improve service delivery more effectively.

This webinar is ideal for communications and operational teams looking for practical, proven digital tools that support better services.

This webinar is open to LARAC members only.
