Huntingdonshire District Council

As Waste Minimisation Support Officer you will be responsible for driving waste minimisation, reuse and recycling within Huntingdonshire through working with partners, community organisations, schools and our service providers. You will look at new and innovative ways of further improving our waste reduction and recycling rates and will recommend and help implement the introduction of these new arrangements. In addition you will contribute to the communications plan and will be required to carry out some enforcement activities.

The successful candidate will:

gather business intelligence for the Waste Service

assist in the drafting of a waste strategy for the council

assist in the production of development/business plans for the Waste Service and

develop and implement annual promotional plans.

You will work with our waste collection crews, looking at a range of issues, including contamination, and developing publicity material and targeting campaigns. Ultimately you will play a key role in improving our services that affect absolutely everyone in our community.
