Your role
The Communications and Engagement team is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Senior Campaign and Behavioural Change Manager to lead on the delivery of high profile, engaging recycling campaigns across Greater Manchester. The campaigns support the work of the GMCA waste and resources team; the largest waste disposal authority in the country, providing a waste disposal services for over one million households across 9 local councils.

You will be responsible for working in partnership with the 9 local councils to develop thought provoking behavioural change campaigns that aim to improve the quality and quantity of recycling collected from over one million households. You will line manage and lead a team of experienced campaign officers and work across a busy team responsible for delivering an education service and managing the Recycle for Greater Manchester website and associated social media channels.

You will be working with a range of stakeholders including council officers, Councillors, community groups and national leading organisations such as Keep Britain Tidy, WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) and the Environment Agency.

About you
This role would suit an individual with previous experience in a campaigns, communications, marketing role with demonstrable knowledge of delivering communication campaigns at a senior level on projects with multiple stakeholders. You will be able to work independently with the confidence to manage your own workload, managing priorities and apportioning time effectively. You will have a good all-round knowledge of different communication channels both off and online and have an eye for detail to develop high quality copy targeted to different audiences.

You will have significant line management experience and can coach and mentor a team to support their professional development and performance.

You will be a good communicator and able to work across a multi-functional and busy team and be able to build up good working relationships with partners and other stakeholders to gather information and provide regular updates and project evaluation.
