An opportunity has arisen to join the waste management team at Preston City Council. We have a vacancy for a flexible, highly motivated, team player with excellent communication skills.
Reporting to the Waste Operations Manager you will work within a team managing the operational waste services offered by the Council. This will involve dealing with the public, 60+ staff in a variety of settings, dealing with vehicle and customer service issues as well as developing collection routes and working with new and existing ICT packages. Working as part of a small office based team at the Councils Argyll Road depot you will be a team player, but also with the ability to work alone, you should be able to prioritise a fluctuating workload, have good computer and numeracy skills. You should ideally have experience of working in an operational setting dealing with a varied workload.
If appointed you will be required to have a driving licence and must have a car available for work purposes.
The hours of work will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday. A casual user allowance is payable.
Standard hours of work are 6.30am to 14.30. However you must be flexible to suit the work requirements which will include later finishes on a regular basis, and occasional evening and weekend work.
