DEPUTY COMMUNITY SERVICES MANAGER

Copeland Borough Council
Salary
£43,757 - £47,870
Closing date

Copeland Borough Council is proud of its recycling, waste and enforcement services. We have maintained our services in house, and have delivered a number of major service changes to improve efficiencies and value for money whilst maintaining good standards of service delivery. Earlier this year we relaunched an improved recycling service, which is significantly improving our recycling performance. The Council adopted a Mayoral model in 2015 and he is encouraging an increased commercialisation agenda around all of our service areas. We operate an established trade waste service which has potential for growth, and manage the Council’s off-street car parks. We have recently rebranded our Whitehaven Market and focused corporate attention on a Pride of Place approach to the borough and, in particular, our town centres. We have a clear agenda for continuing the development of this service area over the next five years and are looking for an experienced individual to join us to drive forward new projects to seize commercial opportunities and to further reduce waste, improve recycling and tackle anti-social behaviour.

Copeland is a unique and memorable borough, and one which provides residents and visitors with an enviable quality of life, with unrivalled access to both urban and rural lifestyles. With an extensive western coastline around the main town of Whitehaven with some of the world's most fantastic scenery among the mountains and lakes of Lake District National Park area including Scafell and Wastwater.
