We are seeking to recruit someone to the post of Assistant Supervisor to support colleagues in the day to day management of the Council’s Environmental Services activities. Your duties will include the supervision of operational staff employed upon waste collection, street cleansing and landscape maintenance activities.
The role will include assisting existing staff to plan, prioritise and allocate work as required. Your duties will include the monitoring of both the teams progress and the teams quality of work to ensure the service is delivered in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
The work of the Service Area can vary due to seasonal demands or an increase in participation levels and the successful candidate must be willing to meet the needs of both our commercial and domestic customers
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their experience of working within a frontline service that is required to adapt to meet the demands placed upon it and will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and motivate staff. You must have good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1999.
The postholder is required to be computer literate and have good written and verbal communications skills. You must hold a current full driving licence.
