WRAP is undertaking its twelfth annual gate fees survey, which investigates gate fees paid by local authorities at waste treatment facilities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. As before, the key aim of the study is to increase transparency in the waste treatment market, an aim supported by LARAC. By giving local authorities better information on market prices for different services, this should help improve the efficiency of the procurement and provision of waste management services in the UK.
Anthesis has been commissioned by WRAP to deliver this year’s gate fees survey and will be responsible for all communications relating to the study.
In delivery of the survey, all local authorities and waste partnerships throughout the UK will again be contacted, along with operators of waste management facilities.
WRAP realises that local authorities and facility operators are subjected to a large number of requests for information and have endeavoured to minimise the length of the survey to make the process as efficient as possible. WRAP stipulates that all information received through the survey is aggregated, and no data presented in the report will be associated with any specific local authority or waste management company. The confidentiality of all respondents is therefore guaranteed and has always been a top priority in all of WRAP’s previous gate fee surveys.
The surveys have now been launched online, and WRAP are asking participants to complete the surveys by Friday, 30th November. The survey forms can be accessed through the following link:
