A successful Yorkshire and the Humber LARAC Regional Conference

After all his efforts to get a Yorkshire and Humber regional conference to take place, John Coates, our LARAC Y&H rep must be resting easy now, at least on that front!  The Y&H meeting was a huge success, full of insightful and informed information, and useful exchange of ideas - and well attended by members.  The opening address, at Allerton Waste Recovery Park, given jointly by Ian Fielding, Assistant Direct at North Yorkshire County Council and Mark James, Head of Construction at Amey set the tone for the day and was emblematic of the partnerships being forged between local authorities and the private sector to deliver effective waste and recycling services to residents.  Take a look at the presentations, if you were unable to attend. The final part of the day was a trip round the Allerton Waste Recovery Park - that we can't replicate, I'm afraid, but I'm sure you will get the gist from the presentation below.  Thanks to letsrecycle.com for their great organisation of this event.
