I’m delighted to announce that the shortlist for the 2026 LARAC Celebration Awards has now been published!
Our awards provide an important opportunity to recognise the innovation, dedication and achievements of local authority waste and recycling teams and their partners across the UK. This year’s entries demonstrated once again how much excellent work is taking place throughout our sector, from successful communications campaigns and new ideas to partnership working, waste prevention, health and safety and improvements at household waste recycling centres.
I would like to thank our judging panel for giving their time and expertise to the difficult task of selecting this year’s finalists. Most importantly, congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted! Being selected from such a strong bunch of entries is a fantastic achievement and something your teams should be incredibly proud of.
The winners will be announced at the LARAC Celebration Awards ceremony on the evening of 7 October, as part of the LARAC Conference in Birmingham at the Hilton Metropole.
I would personally love to see as many LARAC members as possible in the room to celebrate the people and projects making a real difference within our sector. With a fantastic host lined up and another brilliant conference programme across both days, it is set to be a very special occasion.
