Derby City Council’s Waste Management team are looking for two Waste Minimisation Officers to form part of a small team tasked with making our 'Delivering Differently' project an environmental and financial success. You will work with residents to bring about a measurable reduction in household waste arisings through minimisation and diversion.

The role requires strong communication skills to advise, guide, negotiate and persuade a range of audiences to maximise recycling, reduce contamination and reduce waste disposal. Waste can be an emotive topic, so you should be enthusiastic and motivated by helping to improve how waste is managed in Derby.
The successful candidates will have experience of working in a customer focused environment and be keen to help customers, provide a good service and make a difference to the community and environment. You should be independent and able to progress work under your own initiative.
A current full driving licence is essential.
This is a fixed term role for 12 months and would be suitable for a secondment or development opportunity.

Salary - Grade F £21,962 - £24,174 a year
