Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils have successfully embraced the challenges of modern government through taking a progressive partnership approach to offering services. We are proud of what we have achieved through our joint working and we are passionate about delivering excellent services to our customers every day and meeting the needs of our local communities.
Our staff survey results consistently tell us that our employees think this is a great place to work and that they are proud to work for the Councils. An Investor in People (IiP) Assessor commented that, "staff are incredibly positive about their work for the Council, committed to its success and have a high level of satisfaction".
We are looking for a confident and experienced Waste Contract Manager to work within the Joint Waste Team on a part time basis. We provide a waste service to the residents of Chiltern, Wycombe and South Bucks District Councils and manage two waste contracts.
Our current Waste Contract Manager for the South Bucks service works on a part time basis and so we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to cover three days a week – days to be agreed. While this post will have responsibility for the part time management of the South Bucks contract, it will also provide cover for the Waste Contract Manager for the Chiltern and Wycombe Service, in order to provide resilience for the busy team. This post will primarily be based at the South Bucks offices at Denham, but we operate agile working and will require flexibility and an occasional presence at the Chiltern District offices at Amersham.
As Waste Contract Manager, you will ensure the effective management of the South Bucks contract in line with relevant legislation, regulations and the policies and priorities of the Councils. You will need to work effectively and collaboratively with your part-time colleague and good communication skills will be essential, as you deal with a weekly handover of issues.
You will have the proven ability to manage waste contracts effectively and will have excellent problem solving skills. You will need to demonstrate an ability to manage a team with a positive and supportive management style and excellent communication skills are a must.
The Joint Waste Team has an overall responsibility for delivering waste services to around 140,000 households and this post plays a crucial role within this exciting three way dynamic.
