SAI-PAC (UK) Sphere
Sai-Pac UK / Sphere Professional is delighted to emphasise the success of value for money, easily foldable, re-usable High Riser bags. Printed up to 8 colours options, easy to carry & practical tipping handles for off-loading into localised collection bins or vehicles.
This was the creation inspired for 25% of UK’s cc 28 Million homes being flats or high risers and used very successfully by local authorities such as London Borough of Westminster.
In the past 5 years over 20,000 laminated recycling bags have been distributed to Westminster residents in flatted properties. Proving to be a great solution for internal storage and transfer of dry recyclables to communal bins and are very popular with residents. Since the bags were distributed the amount of recycling collected has increased on average by 25 kilos per household per year in targeted properties”
The number of apartments and conversions is bound to increase recognising the UK’s housing shortage and Government policy to address the problem. Addressing predictable trends are important sustainability requirements and a highly effective alternative to bins in particularly in space starved walkways.
Sai-Pac/Sphere Professional offer a varied choice of innovative bag options with effective solutions to its nationwide reach of local authorities. In addition to high riser bags, the range includes recycled sacks, compostable food waste caddy & bin liners & weighted kerbside recycling re-uasable bags. Also essential is the proprietary knowledge to advise LAs on important technical detail such as shelf life and storage preferences; in house knowledge based particular on environment that underpins responsible sustainability management. LAs are entitled to expect assurances from their supplier that the product – whether re-recycled, re-usable or compostable, is fit for purpose, value for money & desired technical specifications.
Thames Water Commercial Services are supporting Local Authorties by offering fat, oil and grease (FOG) management services such as facilitating grease trap emptying, providing a disposal point for FOG wastes and installing FOG trap services through our partners at Aquarius. In July 2013 a bus-sized lump of fat, oil and grease (FOG) which became knows as the 'fatberg' was discovered in a sewer below London' leafy Kingston. The 15-tonne blockaged caused toilets to back up and damaged the sewer to such an extent that the road had to be partly closed for three months while the pipe was repaired. In 2013, 7000 properties in London and the Thames Valley were flooded with raw sewage as a result of 'fatbergs'.
The waste collected will be recycled into a biofuel with the ppotential to fuel London buses as aprt of the Mayers Buiodiesel Programme. If you would like to know more about these services please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Understanding and delivering municipal services – the FCC Environment way
FCC Environment is one of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies. We collect waste from businesses, local authorities and households and process it to ensure we fully realise its potential as a resource. We help local authorities serve their communities with long and short term contracts for collecting, recycling and treating household waste.
We understand what local authorities need.
From everyday municipal waste collections to an increasingly complex network of supplementary and additional services, councils up and down the country do a fantastic job for the local residents they serve.
Here at FCC Environment, we understand that councils do so in the face of some of the most challenging financial conditions local government has ever had to face.
Whatever your waste management needs, FCC Environment can meet them – and deliver exceptional quality services – all through just one contract.
What’s more, thanks to our use of emerging technologies, we can turn your waste into real value, ensuring the finances stack up and deliver on a financial as well as practical level.
WHAT WE DO
From everyday household collections, household waste recycling centres and reuse stores to park maintenance, street cleaning and more, FCC Environment offers a whole range of services that can help take the pressure off councils.
A one-stop-shop for your environmental needs, we have a proven track record of working with more than 60 local authorities up and down the country and delivering hassle-free, award-winning services.
Efficiency and cutting edge technology is at the heart of what we do.
From the little things – like the quality and design of our bins and containers, to huge money saving projects like our Energy from Waste facilities – we do everything with councils and residents’ needs in mind.
When it comes to collection, we use the latest technology to ensure every one of our waste collection trucks takes the most efficient route through its collection run, helping to save fuel, cut CO2 emissions and keep costs as low as possible.
When it comes to processing and saving material from landfill, we are developing a network of Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) which efficiently sort and bale plastics, metals, materials and paper, delivering value and diverting even more waste from landfill.
And when it comes to actually processing waste into something useful, we’re also at the cutting edge.
Our Energy from Waste and Anaerobic Digestion facilities turn waste into much needed energy, helping to power local communities and contribute to our nation’s energy security.
WHY FCC ENVIRONMENT?
At FCC Environment we have a proven track record of working with local authorities.
