Reinvigorating Recycling is a conference that will look at how recycling can be boosted through behaviour change communications.
Recycling in the UK is under pressure. Stagnating and falling recycling levels, increasing disposal costs and ever-shrinking budgets have coalesced to create a seemingly impenetrable barrier to improved levels of recycling and the ability to deal with contamination.
Amidst such a challenging environment, public engagement and communication remains the most readily accessible and cost-effective means to reinvigorate recycling.
Topics will include:
- Boosting recycling through strategic behavioural change communications
- Communicating difficult service changes
- Engaging with urban, diverse communities
- Re-positioning Re-use
- Utilising social media to increase reach
You’ll also hear from UK councils who have successfully deployed communications to bring about performance and including Bexley Council, Rochdale Borough Council, Trafford MBC, Warwickshire County Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and leading behavioural change experts Rachel Gray (WRAP), Ali Moore (Resource London), Stephen Bates (EnviroComms), Trewin Restorick (Hubbub) and Adam Read & Gareth Morton (Ricardo).
