LARAC supports the move towards a circular economy in which products are designed for longevity rather than obsolescence, kept in use for as long as possible and materials are recovered and regenerated at the end of their life.
LARAC believes the most desirable way of ultimately managing waste is to design it out of production and consumption. This will take a complete rethink in how the design process is considered and how consumers are perceived and they themselves operate. All parts of the current linear process will need to evolve and change to a link in a circular process and waste will no longer be the wide ranging concept it is today.
LARAC supports the concepts in the RWM Ambassadors ‘Ever Decreasing Circles’ Report as a way in which we may start to move towards the ideals of a more circular economy.
